See where your website visitors come from
Where do your visitors come from? Google, Facebook, or your nan? Let's find out. A short narrated walkthrough using an example report: Choose a report, Read the pie chart, The full table, Download it.

Figures and account details shown are from an example report, not customer results. Hosted by AAA Signal, so nothing loads from YouTube. Watching doesn't connect an account or change your settings.
Before you start
- A correctly installed Analytics tag and matching GA4 property selected in Connections.
Set it up, step by step
- Open Visitor insights and choose a report from the Report selector.
- Select the period, use the available filters and run or refresh the report.
- Review channels, landing pages, devices, countries or events as relevant. Check warnings and currency where shown.
- Export a CSV if you need an offline review, and keep that file private.
In the dashboard menu: Advanced tools → Visitor insights (click Advanced tools to open that section).
How to use it
Use acquisition reports to compare sources such as Direct, Referral and Organic Search.
AI-referral views identify recognised referrer patterns; they do not identify every visit influenced by an AI answer. Commerce views need implemented ecommerce events.
What the results mean
Sessions, active users and events measure different things. General key events are not necessarily enquiries.
A country report is based on collected Analytics location information. It is not a local search-rank report. Missing revenue does not prove the business made no sales.
If something goes wrong
No visitors are shown
Check tracking in Analytics first, then confirm the selected property and complete reporting window.
Revenue is blank or zero
Verify ecommerce implementation and currency in Analytics; selecting a report does not create purchase tracking.
An error-page title appears
Review the actual URL and response. A matching title is only a possible error-page signal, not proof every matching visit was a 404.
Keep going
- Set up Analytics visitor reporting
- Measure successful enquiries, not just clicks
- Compare search visibility with landing-page activity
