Before you start

  • An accessible Search Console property selected for this business.

Set it up, step by step

  1. Open Search performance. Read the number tiles, then the Over time chart (switch between Clicks and Times shown), Top searches, Top pages and Where you rank. The full tables are underneath.
  2. Open Search explorer for a filtered report. Choose the dimensions, search type and available query, page, country or device filters.
  3. Choose Run filtered report and read the dates, source coverage and warnings.
  4. If useful, name and save the filter preset for this business. Load a saved preset and run the report again to get current data.

Open Search performance →

In the dashboard menu: Advanced tools → Search performance (click Advanced tools to open that section).

How to use it

Compare like-for-like periods and filters. Use CSV exports for deliberate offline review.

Discover and Google News reports require eligible activity; their availability does not follow from ordinary web-search activity.

What the results mean

CTR is clicks divided by impressions. Average position is an average across returned impressions, not a live result.

Saved presets store filter settings, not historical report snapshots. Collection limits and Google privacy omissions can prevent visible rows adding to whole-site totals.

If something goes wrong

A filter returns nothing

Remove filters one at a time, check spelling and widen the complete period. No returned rows does not prove no ranking.

I cannot find my saved view

Check the selected business. Use Report studio when you need a saved data snapshot rather than reusable filters.
